Time to get going
Coming back from an extraordinary victory away at Zenit St. Petersburg, the black-yellows have again switch back to Bundesliga football. In front of a capacity crowd the Westfalenstadion will see 1. FC Nürnberg making their visit to Westphalia. And it is now the time to create some distance to the likes of Wolfsburg and Sch*lke waiting just behind Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga table.

During the week Borussia Dortmund played the first leg of the round of last 16 of the Champions League. BVB had to travel to Russia where they met FC Zenit St. Petersburg. The Russian club had the disadvantage of coming directly from the winter break, so they lacked match practise. Nonetheless the club is powered by energy giant gazprom making it possible that players like Witsel and Hulk were bought from Portugal for millions of dollars. So BVB was warned not to take Zenit as an easy task. But our boys were really up to it. In a fantastic match they outclassed the Russian club 4-2. Mkhitaryan, Reus and two times Lewandowski sealed the win.

But back to Bundesliga. 1. FC Nürnberg had played a really bad first half of the season. With only eleven points and without a three-pointer out of 17 matches the Frankonians were a hot candidate for relegation. But surprisingly they came back from winter break red hot. With four wins and a lost match against invincible Bayner München they did not only move away from the relegation zone but also orientiated direction midfield.

Coach Verbeek has to cope with some injuries. Former BVB striker Daniel Ginczek is out for the rest of the season due to a torn cruciate ligament, Hasebe, Antonio and Gebhart are also out of the squad. Adding to that central defender Nilsson is suspended due to a red card.

Coach Jürgen Klopp has also a couple of injured players. Blaszczykowski and Subotic are out for the rest of the season due to torn cruciate ligaments. Gündogan is still suffering from his back problems. Sven Bender is suffering from a inflammated pubic bone and will be out for about 10 (!) weeks. And Marco Reus is banned fue to his fifth card. But there are also some good news. Mats Hummels will be back from injury and available. On the other hand Sokratis is still doubtful.
