Lets rumble again!

It has been easy to be a Dortmund-Fan in the past couple of years and the celebrations in previous May were probably the icing on the cake for every Dortmund-Fan. Championship winners twice in the row and then the victory in the Cup-Final- the "double" was ours. But as great as the last years have been- an noone will ever forget those- tomorrow, on the 24th of August, the 50. season of the Bundesliga will give it ago and all that has been, does not count anymore.

This is a new season. A new season where we could reach a new record, where we could take our previous performances up- but also another season of a learning progress. Everyone in the media expects a duel between Bayern and Dortmund when it comes to the "Schale", but we should remain modest and approach this season as we have done the past couple two years. With ambition, but not arrogance. The Supercup game against Bayern was the first time- after quite a few testgames- where the game itself had the charakter of an official game and the first 20 minutes showed that it could well happen that not everything will work as easily as we might expect it after last season. Thesecond half was definetely an attachment to what we had whitnessed in the past couple of years- but still, the Bundesliga will show another face again and it will be exciting to see hin how far we have grown as a team and will be able to keep up to our old performances.

Last Saturday was the first official and important match of the new season and we masterfully beat Oberneuland from Bremen with a 3:0 victory. We mastered to move on to the second round of the Cup-Games and our first opponent of the Bundesliga is the city of Oberneuland: Werder Bremen.

Bremen has gone through a difficult time the past few years. From a permanent international participant to a team that is stuck somewhere in the middle of the table, desperate to find its way again. Marin, Naldo, Wiese, Rosenberg, Boenisch, Pizarro have left the club, all of them pretty much important players for Bremen. Instead they have strengthened themselves with players like Elia, who came from Juventus Turin. Furthermore Bremen still has a lot of players who could reach their actual potential, like Arnautovic and Füllkrug. If Bremen starts reforming themselves, they could reach an international level again and one should never underestimate the team from the Weser, despite their fatal defeat in the first Cup-Round against Preußen Münster. In that game they were actually in the lead but their old defensive weakness showed up again and lead to their defeat.

It will not be an easy game- and the first game of the new season is always an exciting one. But our team is hungry, they have come so far but the mentality of our boys has always shown that a lot is not enough. They can extend their limits- I am sure of that- and what is most important: they are looking forward to getting out on that pitch again as much as we are looking forward to watch them play again. And that is what matters the most.

The summerbreak has been long enough. Despite the European Championship, we have all waited long enough for the ball to roll again. In a few hours it is finally time to ruble again. Come on boys, let's do this again, let's stand together and celebrate the 50. season of the Bundesliga our own way and make this season our own again.
